The 2025 National Civics Bee Lawrence County Finals

On Friday, March 14th, the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce hosted the 2025 National Civics Bee Lawrence County Finals at the Southern Tennessee Higher Education Center. From more than two hundred essay entries, nineteen exceptional finalists from middle school were chosen to take part in a live civics quiz and showcase their ideas before judges. The winners were as follows: first place went to Jasper Clark (Summertown Middle), second to Kenlee McDonald (E.O. Coffman Middle School), and third to Leevi Hicks (South Lawrence). The top three will move on to the Tennessee State Finals in June! We wish them great luck as they progress in the competition! The event was supported in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Citizens Bank of Lawrence County. Cloud 9 Fiber was the technology sponsor and Envision Eyecare and Eyewear was the refreshment sponsor. Judges included County Executive David Morgan, Teresa Frazier of Citizens Bank, and School Board Member Bill Adams.
