Columbia State Community College Receives Grant Project Funds

Columbia State recently earned $49,000 in funds for two distinct grant projects that included professors from three Tennessee Board of Regents universities. The money has enabled the development of pilot courses for two TBR Open Educational Resources grants during the Spring 2025 semester. The OER grant program allows faculty teams to transform courses that are now taught using commercially produced textbooks to courses that use OER. In addition to improving access through the affordability of OER, instructors can optimize student engagement and performance by aligning materials with learning outcomes and personalizing tools to fit their methods of instruction.
