Lawrence County deputies worked with officials in Giles County and Alabama to apprehend two suspects in a tractor theft. According to officials, the incident began when a farmer in Lawrence County reported that his tractor had been stolen and posted about it on social media. After seeing the social media post, someone called the police after seeing the stolen tractor behind a residence in Giles County. When arriving on the scene, two individuals were standing outside, as was a vehicle occupied by two people. After being ordered to stop he vehicle, 30-year-old driver Camryn Cagle decided to leave the scene. A deputy took action and used her baton to bust the driver’s side window out, but this did not stop the car from fleeing the scene. According to the Department of Correction, Cagle was convicted of criminal simulation, failure to appear, contraband in a penal facility, and two counts of theft of property in 2017. Records suggest that she was also sentenced to probation in Lawrence County. Cagle was soon found in Limestone County and arrested. Giles County deputies are exploring charges against Cagle for resisting arrest, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment. Deputies returned to the Giles County residence on Myrick Branch Road and began investigating the tractor theft. During the inquiry, investigators arrested William Reynolds, 34, for stealing the tractor. Reynolds was previously convicted of theft and firearms crimes, according to DOC officials. He was reportedly found guilty of two charges of theft of property in 2017 and of being a felon in possession of a weapon in 2019. Recently, he was sentenced to criminal probation in Lawrence County. According to the arrest report, Reynolds offered to sell the tractor for $2,000. During the search, deputies discovered burglary tools and substances, which Reynolds later confirmed was cocaine. The tractor was returned to the owner and the suspects were apprehended.
