According to Shoals Insider, a Colbert Heights High School secretary was arrested for child abuse and placed on administrative leave. Lorinda McCollister, 49, an attendance secretary at Colbert Heights High School, was arrested on Monday, March 10th, for five counts of torture or malicious abuse of a child under the age of 18. She was eventually released from Colbert County Jail on a $75,000 bond. Authorities have confirmed that the accusations do not involve any kids from Colbert Heights High School, where McCollister worked. Colbert County Superintendent Nathan Fuller had placed her on administrative leave last Friday, before her arrest. McCollister started working as an attendance secretary in July 2024, having previously worked as a substitute teacher at Colbert Heights High School. The case is still under investigation.
