Arrest Made In Limestone County Following Standoff

Limestone County, Alabama, Sheriff’s Deputies apprehended two armed subjects Thursday who had barricaded themselves inside a North Wales Road home in Elkmont.  Deputies had attempted to serve warrants against the two people on charges of chemical endangerment of a child.  Rather than complying, the couple barricaded themselves inside the home, armed with a shotgun.  Members of the SWAT team were dispatched to assist, along with trained negotiators.  After a brief standoff, the couple surrendered themselves.  They were arrested without further incident and transported to the Limestone County Jail.
