Prowler Call Leads Authorities to Car Thief

A Summertown man wanted by the Lawrenceburg Police Department for stealing a 2015 Dodge Charger was apprehended by Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies investigating a prowler call on Monday.  Residents gave a description that matched that of fifty-year-old John Paul Jones, who was a suspect in the stolen car case.  Deputies went to his home on Cummings Road where they found the stolen vehicle in the driveway with the lights on.  They confronted Jones, who then surrendered.  Jones is charged with theft of property over $1,000 and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
