The Lawrenceburg Community Theatre has been awarded the Tennessee Arts Commission’s Arts Builds Community Grant, allowing hundreds of second-grade students from Lawrence County’s public and private schools to attend a special matinee performance of Beauty and the Beast Jr. at no cost. The event will take place on Friday, March 14th, 2025, at the historic Crockett Theater as part of LCT’s mission to make live theater accessible to all. This initiative, made possible through the efforts of grant coordinators Kathy Burns and Bethany Nelson and grant writer Nancy Brewer, aims to introduce young students to the performing arts and foster a love for creativity, storytelling, and live performance. In addition to the special school performance, Beauty and the Beast Jr. will run for three public performances at the Crockett Theater on Friday, March 14th at 7:00 PM, Saturday, March 15th at 7:00 PM, and Sunday, March 16th Matinee at 2:00 PM. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.purplepass.com/lctbeautybeastjr or by calling PurplePass at 1-800-316-8559.
