Betty Mae Smith

Betty Mae Smith, age 91, of Summertown, TN passed away Wednesday, March 05, 2025, at her residence. She was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from Murray Ohio, and a member of Summertown Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Edgar and Lucinda Voss Clifft; two sons, Jerry Wayne Smith and Tony Smith; seven sisters, Helen Staggs, Felicia Riley, Alice Davis, Josephine Favors, Mattie Welch, Ola Barnett, and Linda Sue Cotton; and two brothers, Richard Clifft and George Clifft.

She is survived by her husband, William Smith of Summertown, TN; two daughters, Joan Konig (Jimmy) and Judy Dickson (Danny), both of Summertown, TN; one son, Jeff Smith (Linda) of Summertown, TN; two daughters-in-law, Debbie Smith and Angie Smith, both of Summertown, TN; ten grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Caris Healthcare, Donna Tucker, and Delores DD Davis.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Friday, March 07, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Friday, March 07, 2025, with Tommy Lee Kidd officiating. Interment will follow at Freedom Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to Summertown Baptist Church, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the American Cancer Society.
