A Lawrence County Woman has a Warrant for Arrest for 18 Counts of Animal Cruelty

On Saturday, February 15th, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence involving extreme animal cruelty. This would not be the first time law enforcement has been contacted about the residence for dogs roaming around and neglected. After arriving at the residence, the son of the homeowners stated that his dad was in jail and his mother had not been home in almost two weeks. Immediately, law enforcement noticed a dog was deceased in the fenced in back yard and noticed they were left with no food or water. After entering the home, six living dogs were inside a pen that was attached to the back of the mobile home with a hole cut in the home to allow the dogs to enter and exit. After further investigation, two more dogs were discovered deceased at the back of the pen. It became obvious that the still-alive dogs were eating the deceased dogs, causing exposure to ribcages and spines. After further investigation, five more dogs were found, including a puppy, and the home was covered with animal feces. Food and water were arranged to be given to the dogs until they were able to be transported to the animal shelter. After trying to remove the dogs from the hole in the home, three more deceased dogs were discovered. Two of the dogs were still intact, while one appeared to just be the head of the dog. A total of eighteen dogs were discovered in the home, with twelve living and six deceased. The twelve dogs were seized and transported to Lawrenceburg Animal Shelter. Soon, arrest warrants were developed for the homeowner, Jennifer Marie Frost, with 18 counts of aggravated animal cruelty to animals.
