The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) sponsored a public meeting at the Jack Daniel’s Welcome Center on Tuesday, February 25th. A large number of local anglers and community members attended the event. The discussion focused on fisheries management below Tims Ford Dam, where TWRA stocks trout for fishermen of various skill levels and equipment preferences. Alex Bybel, TWRA Fisheries Biologist, started the conversation by presenting current management tactics. After the presentation, attendees could speak with TWRA biologists, law enforcement, and TVA representatives at dedicated listening stations. Topics covered included access, stocking, regulations, water management, and general concerns. The conference allowed fishermen to offer their ideas and comments on improving the fishing experience at Tims Ford Tailwater. TWRA cherishes public feedback and will continue to solicit it through social media and outreach efforts in the foreseeable future.
