During their February 24 meeting, City of Ethridge leaders approved an ordinance that prevents commissioners from being paid, should they not have a good reason for missing meetings.  They announced that both of the city’s tornado warning sirens are now fully operational. They heard an update on efforts to cleanup dilapidated properties, heard an update on an issue with lights at the ballpark, and indicated that access to the old bank building adjacent to city hall would be blocked due to a large crack that had developed in the back wall. Mayor Dallas Luna also reported that the city had obtained a snowplow blade that will allow them to clear city streets during inclement weather.
