Colbert County Drug Task Force Makes a Big Bust

On the evening of February 21st, agents from the Colbert County Drug Task Force, assisted by the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office, performed a traffic stop on Milner Street in Sheffield. The vehicle was pulled over because the driver had outstanding warrants with the Sheffield Police Department. The vehicle’s driver refused to allow deputies to search, prompting a call for assistance from the Florence PD K-9 unit. The K9 gave a positive indication on the car. During the search, officers discovered 203 grams of methamphetamine and $51,606 in US money. Ricky Leon Allen, 47, of Sheffield, was arrested for cocaine trafficking and is being held on a $250,000 bond at Colbert County Jail.
