Sarah Elizabeth Bowden-Threet, 92 of Lawrenceburg, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at NHC Healthcare, Scott. She was a native of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, retired as Vice President of Lawrence County Bank, recipient of the Lawrence County Business and Professional Women’s AP Diamond Award, and member of Mars Hill United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother: John Morgan and Pearl Pitts; sisters: Nova Jewel Perry and Jane Morgan Pitts; first husband: W.O. Bowden, Junior; second husband: J.W. Threet; and son-in-law, Terry Jones.
She is survived by one daughter: Beth Bowden-Jones of Lawrenceburg; grandson: Ben Luna and wife Sarah of Lawrenceburg; stepdaughters: Sherry Threet Montgomery of Knoxville, Tennessee and Lisa Threet Snyder and husband Jim of Maryville, Tennessee; and stepson: Philip Threet and wife Joy of Parsons, Tennessee. Step-grandchildren: Allie Philpot and husband Ryan, Laura Long and husband Wesley, Erin Pearcy and husband Chance, Kayla Whitehead and husband TJ, Kelli Fowler and husband Matt, Katie Naughton and husband Mat, Joshua Montgomery and wife Samantha, and Jeremy Montgomery and wife Holly. Nine step-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday, February 28, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Friday, February 28, 2025, with Ben Luna officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to Mars Hill United Methodist Church or the Lawrence County Volunteer Fire & Rescue. Condolences may be sent by way of our website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
