The Lawrence County E-911 Board of Directors meeting was on Monday, February 24th at the Jason Dickey Memorial Training Center. Board members heard a presentation and accepted the results of its 2024 financial audit which found the communications district to be in sound financial condition. Following a discussion on routine budget amendments; the board approved the purchase of a new dispatch recording system and authorized Director Chad Moore to transfer an out-of-service vehicle to another city or county agency. Director Moore updated the Board on the E-911 new address fee system which was implemented in November. Lawrence County Fire Director Tyler Mcdow discussed several issues concerning county-wide radio coverage for fire protection and other agencies. He recommended that E-911 look into coordinating system maintenance, tower leasing, and other issues that are currently being handled by multiple agencies. The next E-911 board meeting will be held at a location and date to be determined later.
