Gale Hale, 84, of Rogersville died Saturday, February 22, 2025, at her residence. She was born May 9, 1940, in Bonnertown, Tennessee. She was born to Brown Newton (father) and Ola Newton (mother).
She graduated from Lexington High School, Class of 1959. She was a member of Hickory Flat Freewill Baptist. She was a 20-year retired Pharmacy Technician for Elgin Pharmacy, where she became very well known in the community. Gale loved to paint, and in her lifetime, she painted very beautiful, detailed canvases. Gale loved her house, and her world revolved around her family. She was a wonderful homemaker and wife. She enjoyed laughing and making jokes with family and friends. Gale held many titles in her life, but “mother” and “nanny” were her favorites.
Gale was preceded in death by her parents, Brown and Ola Newton; her son, Robert “Kent” Holden; her granddaughter, Sheena Holden; and her brother-in-law, Robert Dale Landers.
Gale is survived by her husband, Bud Hale, of 35 years; great-grandson Ashton McLemore (Allie McLemore); sister Carnelia Landers; nephew Gary Holden, Terry Holden, and Sherry Burgess; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 25, 2025, 12-2 PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the chapel with Rev. Roger Troup officiating. Burial will be at Bluewater Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ashton McLemore, Eric McLemore, Conner Scheetz, Tommy Robbins, Billy Hale, Rickey Bradford, Gary Holden, and Odie Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Mansell, Steve Nichols, Zollie Church, Kenneth Trousdale, Daniel Holden, and Brian Allen.
