Sue Gibbs, age 83, of Lawrenceburg, TN slipped peacefully from this earth on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at home with her family surrounded. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a preacher’s wife, farmer’s wife, loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She loved to travel to see her family and other places as well. She was an awesome cook; earning the name “Pie Queen”. She was a member of Crawfish Valley Community Club and the Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee.
She was preceded in death by her by her parents, Henry and Lucille Franklin Jones; her husband, John K. Gibbs; one brother, Phillips Jones; and one sister, Annetta Anderson.
She is survived by her three children, Brent (Darlene) Gibbs, Nina Busby (Kevin), Rex Gibbs (Cindy) all of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandchildren, Brenton Gibbs, Katie Gibbs (Victor)Taylor, John Logan (Taylor) Busby, Candi (Robert) Woodward, Paige James, Julia Stewart, and Emily Allen; great-grandchildren, Zach, Graham, Theo, Brailyn, Corrie, Anna Grace, Braden, Livvy, Lincoln due in April, and Penelope due in June; two sisters, Ruth Hamilton and Virginia Martin; one brother, Dave Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
A big “Thank You” to the wonderful ladies who cared and watched over her for the last months; Angie Bunt, Gina Bennett, Jewell Brainard, Heather Henson, Glenda Cox, Theresa Boger, Pam Barnes, April Fronning, and Caris Hospice.
Those serving as pallbearers; Rex Gibbs, Brenton Gibbs, John Logan Busby, Alan Duke, Bob Gulan, and Brad Staggs.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside service and Interment will be conducted at Bumpas Cemetery at 2:30 PM Saturday, February 22, 2025, with Jacob Evans officiating. The family suggests memorials be made to the Bumpas Cemetery Fund. Condolences may be sent by way of our website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
