Starting Thursday, February 20th, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is requesting that consumers use as little electricity as possible. According to the electric board, this will enable an extension of the available power supply. Lowering your thermostat to 68 degrees or a safe and comfortable setting is one suggestion. Wait until the warmest time of day to do laundry, run your dishwasher, and lower the temperature of your water heater to 120 degrees. Before leaving a room, always switch off all lights and unplug any equipment that is not in use. Additionally, the warm air will be forced downward if your ceiling fan is set to rotate in a clockwise direction. High utility bill prices can also be reduced as a result of this. Please keep in mind those who work day and night to make sure we have the necessities to keep our house warm and functional.
