A Public Notice from the Summertown Utility District Board of Commissioners has been released. There is currently a vacancy on the Summertown Utility District (SUD) Board of Commissioners, and nominations are now being accepted. Potential Commissioners may only be nominated by SUD’s current, active customers. Every nomination needs to be sent in writing. A person must be at least eighteen years old, a current, active SUD customer, willing to take the Oath of Office, have completed the required twelve hours of Commissioner training within a year of appointment, and be willing to attend monthly Board meetings to be eligible to serve as a Commissioner of SUD. A current SUD client or current SUD customer may nominate themselves. Current, active SUD customers may submit nominations in writing by 4:30 PM on Friday, March 14th, to the Summertown Utility District headquarters located at 104 Shady Street in Summertown, Tennessee to be considered for this position. A list of candidates will be assembled and sent to the Lawrence County Executive for consideration. The chosen candidate’s term for this open job will expire on May 31st, 2028.
