Victim Rescued From Creek Crash

Emergency personnel responded when a car went off the Turn Pike in Lawrence County, down a fifteen-foot embankment, and into a creek around 7:45 Saturday morning. The car landed on its side in the water, with one person trapped inside.  Firefighters partially removed the roof and extricated the victim, who was then transported by the Lawrence County Emergency Medical Service to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.  In addition to Lawrence County Fire & Rescue and EMS, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the rescue.
