Magotteaux Inc. of Pulaski was officially welcomed as the newest member of the Tennessee Green Star Partnership by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) on Thursday, February 13th. A program for environmental leadership, the Tennessee Green Star Partnership honors manufacturers around the state who are dedicated to sustainability and demonstrate ongoing operational improvement. The Magotteaux factory is a dual-use foundry that produces goods for the aggregate, mining, and cement sectors. Magotteaux operates in 21 countries across six continents and has 25 sites worldwide. Pulaski is the sole dual production site for Magotteaux in North America (grinding balls and castings). In addition to holding four distinct International Organization of Standardization (ISO) certifications, including ISO 140001, which acknowledges environmental performance, the Magotteaux Pulaski site has undertaken several initiatives that demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability. A manufacturer must operate under an ISO 14001 certification, a voluntary environmental management standard created by the International Organization for Standardization, or an ISO 14001-compliant environmental management system to be eligible to join the Tennessee Green Star Partnership. Additionally, the manufacturer must have demonstrated exceptional ecological compliance with TDEC for at least three years. You may learn more about TDEC’s Green Star Partnership program online.
