At around 8:00 PM on February 3rd, 2025, Florence police officers arrived at the intersection of West Mobile Street and North Locust Street about a male who was down in the street. Despite being awake, the individual was not reacting to anyone present. According to a witness, a man who ran away before the officers could reach him punched the victim in the head from behind and assaulted him in the face after the victim was on the ground. After being transported to the University Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) Hospital, the victim, a 59-year-old man, is still not responding. The suspect in the crime was determined to be Fredrick Maurice Ingram, 47, of Florence, Alabama, following more research. Unrelated charges led to Ingram’s arrest on February 10th, 2025. After the processing of Ingram’s previous charges, a warrant for one count of Attempted Murder will be served. Ingram is being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center. If you have any information, you can contact Detective Price at 256-760-6595. You can also message the FPD on Facebook and leave an anonymous tip through the FPD App.
