Concerns regarding Trump’s cancellation of a federal grant that affected local Huntsville Utilities customers are being expressed by hundreds of people online. The 255 residents of the area who submitted received a $100 extra grant from the Biden administration, known as the Infrastructure Investment Jobs Act, to assist with their bill payments. However, the funds were refunded and the grant program was stopped. Nearly fifty people have been unable to repay the $100 debit that was made to their accounts as a result. Many customers are now seeing debt owed to the utility company as a result of the cancellation of the assistance program. The Huntsville Alabama Community Resources Facebook page is dedicated to assisting impacted consumers in paying their bills, according to LaToya Whitfield, HACR Founder.
