Students were able to showcase the abilities they acquired throughout the seven-week Pre-Apprentice Lineworker Academy Mini-Rodeo, which was recently held by the Columbia State Office of Workforce and Continuing Education. First place went to Bethany Lamon of Fayetteville, second to Cole McCafferty of Summertown, and third to Timothy Brown of Hohenwald in the overall rodeo. After completing the program, the students obtained certificates in climbing from the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association, first aid and CPR, OSHA 10 with ET&D, and NSC flagger. The students are also ready to take the commercial driver’s license exam. Several scholarships and awards were given as well. To see more, you can visit columbiastate.edu.
