Colbert County Drug Task Force Made an Arrest After an Issued Search Warrant

In cooperation with the Sheffield Police Department and Colbert County Sheriff’s Office, the Colbert County Drug Task Force carried out a search warrant at a Sheffield, Alabama, home early on January 31, 2025. Clarence Edward Jones III was arrested as a result of the operation on suspicion of trafficking illegal drugs. Agents entered the house and saw Jones trying to escape to the bathroom. He was promptly taken into custody, searched, and placed under arrest. During the search, officials discovered $18,964 disbursed to different spots of the home, a small baggie of cocaine in the outside storage, a cup with three bags of cocaine outside the residence, and marijuana on the living room table. Clarence Edward Jones III is currently charged with trafficking illegal drugs (cocaine) under the Alabama Criminal Code; additional charges may follow once more research and forensic findings are obtained.
