Charles Clayton Clark, Sr. Obituary
Charles C. Clark, Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2025. He was born October 28, 1943 in Mercer, PA. where he graduated from Lakeview High School in Stoneboro, PA in 1962. After his father sold his large dairy farm in Mercer, PA, Mr. Clark started his career with Pennsylvania Power Co. in June of 1966. He moved to Gainesville, FL in August 1978 and worked for the University of Florida until April 1984. He then went to work for Florida Power Corp. of St. Petersburg. Florida Power merged with North Carolina Power in 2000 and became Progress Energy and he retired from there in October 2005 after a 39 year career. His work had been in the Transmission Design and Standards Dept. as a quality control expert inspecting all incoming Power Transformers to their standards and industry standards.
Mr. Clark enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and cruises. One of his last remembered trips was taking his family to Maui, HI for a week-long vacation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lilian; parents Paul and Vera Clark; and infant son, Charles, Jr.
Mr. Clark resided in Gainesville, FL, enjoying his two daughters, Tonya and LaVonne and son, Paul who survive him. Also surviving, are thirteen grandchildren, two sisters, Carolle and Shirley both of Orlando.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. A graveside service will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorials be made to The Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases. Condolences may be sent by way of our website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
