For January, Center Point Fire and Rescue responded to four calls. These included three brush fires and one structure fire. The department was also able to install a washer and dryer for their gear after receiving funds from the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. Collectively, 100 hours were donated by volunteers to respond to calls, train, and work at the station. The station was also able to put a new brush truck in service after having a unit for 25 years with 200,000 miles. This allowed room for more equipment to better assist with calls and the ability to use alternate water sources such as creeks, ponds, and swimming pools. With the help from the County Commission, the station was able to save tremendously for repairs and upgrades to better serve the community.
