William Sanders Stanton, Sr. Obituary
William Sanders Stanton, 97, husband of the late Anne Louise Brewer Stanton, passed away February 2, 2025.

A native of Cookeville, Tennessee, son of the late Layton Ferrell and Florene Cornwell Stanton, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, a retired employee of Gibson Greeting Cards, and a member of Northside Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, William S. Stanton, Jr. (Nancy) of Atlanta, Georgia; two daughters, Nancy Anne Primeaux of Denver, North Carolina and Carolyn Elizabeth Stanton (Vonnie) of Greenville, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Tyler Stanton, Bryan Stanton, Kyle Stanton, Braidyn McNamara, and Zachary McNamara; and ten great-grandchildren.

Mr. Stanton was predeceased by a son, Layton Randall Stanton; and a granddaughter, Shannon Alexandria Meek.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Monday, February 10, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Monday, February 10, 2025, with Jimmy Rochelle officiating. Interment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN with full military honors. Memorials may be made to Northside Methodist Church, 435 Summit Drive, Greenville, South Carolina 29609.
