Lila Glynn Gobbell

Lila Glynn Gobbell, 84 of Lawrenceburg, TN died on January 31, 2025. She was born March 9, 1940, in Lawrence County, TN. Lila graduated from Wayne County High School in 1957. She lived briefly in Sheffield, Alabama and Kankakee, Illinois before returning to Tennessee and marrying Harold Gene Gobbell in 1960. She worked with many friends at the Kay Windsor Company for twenty years before retiring. She was a talented pianist and loved to sing gospel music throughout her life, usually with members of her McGee family or with her husband and children. She had many talents and hobbies, but seemed to most love painting with acrylics and doing genealogy research. She was a very active member of the Lawrence County Genealogical Society, serving as president for several years. She loved her husband, brothers, sisters, children, and grandchildren very well.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years; her parents, Starling Lowell McGee and Lois Butler McGee; three brothers, Kenneth McGee (infant), Travis McGee and Troy Don McGee; and two sisters, Connie Gerhart and Kaye Neill.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Gobbell Talbert (John Chatelain); one son, Lane Gobbell (Donna); two grandsons, Wade Gobbell (Laura) and Jack Gobbell (Meredith Kocan); as well as three great-grandchildren, Crosby, Clark, and Nelly Gobbell. She is survived by her brother James Lowell McGee (Pat) and five sisters, Barbara Tucker, Brenda Irvin, Sandy Lawson (Jacky), Jill Tucker (Randy), and Jan Penix. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Brenda Oliver (Jim) and dear friend Kathy Neidergeses.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday February 5, 2025, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Wednesday February 5, 2025, with Jonathan Penix officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN.  Condolences may be sent by way of our website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
