Obituary Announcement for Jordan Funeral Home-Pulaski, TN 931-363-1616
Mr. Toby Howard was born July 9, 1951 in Pulaski, TN to the late Mark Howard Jr. and the late Thelma
Whitfield. He transitioned from his earthly life and evolved into his spiritual one on January 24, 2025.
Toby accepted Christ at St. James P.B. Church under the leadership of Cornelius A. Hill. He was a
dedicated member of the usher board and faithfully served his church, always ready to lend a hand
wherever needed until his health no longer allowed him to do so.
Toby lived a life full of love, laughter, and purpose. He loved his family unconditionally, always putting
them first and creating cherished memories. His smile was one of a kind—warm, bright, and capable
of lighting up any room. Fishing brought him peace, grilling was his art, and the aroma of his famous
barbecue sauce was a family favorite. He loved spending time gardening, nurturing it with the same
care he gave to those he loved. Toby had a passion for music, football—especially cheering for his
favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles—and classic westerns that reflected his strong and steadfast
spirit. He took great pride in his black Cadillac, a reflection of his style and personality, and it was a
small part of the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures.
Above all, Toby had a selfless heart, always willing to help anyone in need. Toby leaves behind a
legacy of faith, love, and kindness. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will forever live on in the
lives he touched and the memories we hold dear.
Toby and Doris Howard married on April 22, 2000 and to their union, two children were born, Chanel
and Angel.
Toby leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife, Doris Howard; stepfather, Lawrence also
known as “Luke” Whitfield; children, Brian (Angela) Howard, Tracy White, Tijunia (Marty) Brooks,Mechelle Beets, Tobie Howard, Monica (Correy) Helton, Chelsie Turner, Chanel Howard, and Angel Howard; brothers, Henry Louis Howard and James Edward (Mattie) Howard; sisters, Brenda (Barry)
Holt and Marie Brown; mother-in-law, Martha Holt; sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Tim) Drake, Michelle
