Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department Remove 82 Dogs from an Unfit Home

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department, in collaboration with animal control, removed 82 dogs from a home on County Road 6 in the Central Community due to concerns about suspected neglect and poor living circumstances. Authorities discovered that the canines were housed in cramped cages, which raised major welfare concerns. Due to the horrible conditions, the animals were confiscated and transported to a nearby shelter, where veterinarians would assess their health and offer required medical care. Law enforcement officers have yet to pursue charges, pending the outcome of the veterinary assessments and further investigation. The issue is still being investigated, and officials will decide whether to file charges against the resident based on the animals’ condition and treatment.
