Thomas “Tommy” Edwin Eaton, age 89, of Nashville, TN, passed away on January 22nd, 2025 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Tommy was born on April 17th, 1935 to the late Walter Eaton and Lillian Marie Mincher Eaton in Huntsville, AL. Tommy proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. Tommy would go on to work 35 years for the United States Postal Service. He was a talented mechanic, and loved spending time working on his and other’s vehicles. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, playing music, socializing, feeding the local wildlife, such as deer, pigeons, and loved spending time with his loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, LaRue Anne Slagle Eaton; daughter, Karen Lynn Eaton Sadler; brother, Larry Wayne Eaton; sister, Joyce Ann Eaton.
He is survived by his son, Brian Edwin Eaton (Kimberly Ann Cope Eaton); sister, Glenda Faye Eaton Bustamante; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Mike Dalton.
Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held following the visitation, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
