The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Fisheries Division is requesting opinions on the proposed sport fish restrictions through February 15th. The recommendations were presented during the January meeting of the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission. Public Notice and Comment Opportunities is the link to the TWRA website where comments can be submitted. At the February 20th and 21st meeting in Nashville at the TWRA Region II Ray Bell Building, the Commission will vote on the proposed changes. Several regulations were proposed to address issues with bass identification relating to the introduction of Alabama bass and their hybridization with native Tennessee bass. Regulations on largemouth bass were largely unaltered, but to eliminate confusion regarding the identification of hybrids of these species, smallmouth bass, Alabama bass, and spotted bass would all be subject to the same regulations by the reservoir. Local Davy Crockett Lake proposed black bass with no daily creel limit and only one black bass over 18 inches per day.
