Loretto officers responded to a welfare check on a person who had passed out in a car near Cash Savers on January 14th, 2025. A white male individual who seemed to be under the influence of drugs was approached by officers. After escaping in the car, the driver led police on a fast-paced chase through Loretto, Saint Joseph, and Alabama. The pursuit was taken up by Lauderdale County in Greenhill and continued into Killen, where the subject collided with a county patrol unit. The arrest was made after the subject crashed on an Alabama Street. The person, identified as Thomas Rosa from Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, was taken into custody by Lauderdale County. Several charges have been filed against Lauderdale County, including narcotics charges due to the discovery of meth and marijuana in the vehicle. The individual was placed under hold by the Loretto Police Department for reckless endangerment, reckless driving, evading arrest, and driving while in possession of a suspended license. Officers verified that Rosa also possesses several warrants from New Jersey, as well as warrants in Ashland City, and Maury County, Tennessee.
