The state Board of Examiners for Architects and Engineers has granted awards totaling $400,000 to 19 programs at 13 Tennessee colleges in 2025, the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance (TDCI) is pleased to announce. Eligible public and private universities applied for grant funds through the Board’s Grants to Higher Education Program. These funds can be used to buy student-use computers, lab or instructional equipment, and library resources, or to cover exam or internship fees for students enrolled in accredited programs in architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, and interior design. The three Grand Divisions of Tennessee are represented by the 13 colleges that will receive grant funds in 2025. Among them are: Christian Brothers University, Union University, the University of Tennessee-Martin, and the University of Memphis are all located in West Tennessee. Lipscomb University, Tennessee Tech University, Middle Tennessee State University, Vanderbilt University, and Belmont University are all located in Middle Tennessee. Lastly, East Tennessee State University, the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga are all located in East Tennessee.
