Ms. Carrie Crook Willingham of Pulaski age 88, transitioned away from this life on Tuesday,
December 31, 2024, at Hillside Hospital. She was born to the late Laura Emma and Sammuel
Crook on August 24, 1936. She was surrounded by family and friends. Ms. Carrie as she was
often known was born and raised in Pulaski, TN. She was a long-time member of Anthony Hill
Missionary Baptist Church where she was at one time active in the choir and church
secretary. In her later years she served on the Mother Board. She had the gift of singing and
would often sing at several churches and funerals. She loved going to hear live gospel singing.
She graduated from Bridgeforth High School.
She had several different career paths as a nurse assistant and worked over 20 years and
retired from FAFNIR factory plant in Pulaski, TN. As a mother and grandmother, she was
generous, loving, and kind. She had the best homemade biscuit and chess pie recipe known
to mankind. She always greeting everyone with a smile.
She is survived by her daughter Kathey Reynolds who was her main caregiver, her baby
daughter Bernita Gregory who made sure she had her special meals. Her son in law Jerome
Cross, who they had a lunch date every Tuesday. Her sister Annie Abernathy. Her
grandchildren Tiffiney (Maina) Mwaura, Shamalita Rivers (her picky eater), Teneshia Cross
(her personal beautician), Stacey Cross, Grant Johnson(her go to), Timothy Crook and her
baby granddaughter who was her special cook and caregiver Carrian Martindale. She had a
host of great grandchildren Ambryana Reynolds, Samuel Fulton, Trashun Fulton, D’Maiya
Cross, Stacey Cross Jr, Haven Braden, Layla Crabb, Neveah Beets, K’Maya Johnson, Kabriah
Martindale, Peyton Edmonson, BJ Edmonson (her favorite), Crishon Cross, Zyan Mwaura,
Timothy Crook Jr, Khaelani Reynolds and Kobe Reynolds. Her only great -great grandchild
Armani Fulton. Her best friends Gregory and Tammy Simmons. Her bonus grandsons Richard
Kemp and Quincy Mitchell. Great family friend David Pipkins. And a host of nieces, nephews
(Jonathan Abernathy, Rodney Abernathy , and Kenny Abernathy), great nieces, nephews,
cousins, devoted church members, friends, bonus children and grandchildren: Shanell Rivers,
Kameron Power, Kaleah Mills and Kadence Mills.
The funeral service for Ms. Carrie Crook Willingham will be held on Saturday, January 11,
2025 beginning with visitation at 12 noon and the service immediately following at 1:00 pm
at the Greater Richland Creek Missionary Baptist Association (Central Building) 1095 Bledsoe
Road, Pulaski, TN.
Burial will be in Kimbrough Cemetery on Crooked Hill Road off of Hwy 166 South.
Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Ms. Carrie Crook Willingham.
