A Columbia man has been sentenced to serve a total of 65 years in prison for his part in the April, 2021 murder of Lawrenceburg resident Sharon Gillespie.  Gillespie was shot outside The Summit assisted living facility, where she was employed, and died a short time later.  Columbia residents Brandon Waire and Victoria Cash, both age 40, were later indicted on charges of first-degree murder, homicide, robbery, and narcotics-related offenses.  Waire stood trial in October and was found guilty of second-degree murder and aggravated assault. Cash, who has not yet stood trial, has a plea hearing scheduled for January 21.
