A 51-Year-Old Inmate in Lauderdale Was Found Deceased

A 51-year-old female inmate was discovered unresponsive in the Lauderdale County Detention Center early on Wednesday morning; authorities are looking into her death. Corrections personnel found the inmate in a holding cell at roughly 2:00 in the morning, according to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office. The detainee had already passed away when the on-duty nurse was called in. At around 5:00 PM on Tuesday, Florence Police apprehended the woman and charged her with driving under the influence (DUI). According to preliminary findings, she had a medical episode before passing away. When Lauderdale County Coroner Kim Jones arrived at the facility, the judgment was made to declare the inmate deceased. Until her family is notified, her identity has not been made public. To discover the circumstances behind the death, the matter has been turned over to the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI). The Department of Forensic Sciences has been tasked with conducting an autopsy on the inmate’s body.
