Florence Fire and Rescue Respond to a Structure Fire

In Florence, just after 1:15 PM on Sunday, December 22nd, crews from stations #1, #3, and #5 responded to a structure fire on the 2200 Block of North Wood Avenue. When responders first arrived, the fire was heavy in the front of the residence and began to destroy the home’s interior brutally. Responders were able to get the fire under control within minutes. After several more responders arrived, the water supply was secured, the structure was ventilated, and a primary search began. One family pet was located during the search and removed. It was given oxygen on scene and transported by Animal Control for emergency vet treatment. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries and the fire is now under investigation.
