Beginning January 1st, 2025, Tennessee SB 2307 will include hydrogen gas under the state’s current alternative fuels tax law. After that, hydrogen gas will not be subject to sales or use taxes, but it will be subject to the 21 cents per gallon alternative fuels tax. Alabama imposed a transitory occupancy tax on lodging and accommodations for the majority of temporary inhabitants, such as tourists, on October 1st, 2024. Beginning January 1st, 2025, accommodations middlemen that enable those transactions are subject to this tax under SB150, the Alabama Tourism Tax Protection Act.
