William Walter Wood, III (78) passed away December 16, 2024 at his residence in Pulaski, TN.
Walter was born October 3rd 1946 and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was a long-time
musician for over 60 years, and an electronic repairman for over 40 years. Walter was also a member of
the National Guard and an active member of the Son’s of Confederate Veterans. He helped in the
location, dedication and recognition of soldiers.

Walter was a dedicated husband to his wife, Cathy, for 55 years and a loving Father and Papa. He loved
trail riding, fishing and gardening, but mostly he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Friday, December 20th, 2024 at Bennett-May &
Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
The Memorial Service will follow in the chapel at 1:00 with Bro. Mark Johnson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you donate to General John C. Brown Camp #112 Sons of the
Confederate Soldiers, Giles County 257 United Daughters of the Confederacy, or a charity of your choice.

Walter was proceeded in death by his father, John Paul Wood; Stepmother, Ellen Wood; Mother,
Cornelia James Wooten; and Brother, John Paul Wood, Jr.
Walter was survived by his Wife, Cathy Wood (Pulaski); Son, Charly Wood and Wife, Amanda (Pulaski);
Brother, Ronnie Wood and Wife, Karen (Smyrna); Sister, Paula Wood Word and Husband Barry (Minor
Hill); Grandson, Cody Wood and Wife, Blaire (Prospect); Step Granddaughters, Shelby Jones (Pulaski)
and Madison Jones (Pulaski); Great Granddaughter, Cheyenne Wood (Prospect); Great Grandson, Drake
Wood (Prospect), and Soon to Be Great Grandtwins (Prospect); Nephew, Brody Word (Minor Hill); Niece,
Alex Davenport and Husband, Drew (Nashville); Niece Emily Vaughan and Husband Jordan (Hixion)
