The Lewis County Government is excited to start recycling worn clothing at the Transfer Station in collaboration with “America’s Thrift Stores”! Residents can now dispose of their old clothing in recycling bins outside the Upper and Lower Garbage Buildings as a result of this new agreement. Following the collection, America’s Thrift Stores will sell the donated goods, with a part of the sales going to “Make-A-Wish of Middle Tennessee.” In addition to used clothes and shoes, additional household items including pillows, towels, bed linens, and bath rugs are also accepted. With so many people cleaning out their closets after getting new clothes for Christmas next week, this new recycling option for Lewis County residents comes at a perfect time. The Transfer Station is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Saturday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Donations can be dropped off during these normal hours. Please visit the Lewis County Government website at https://www.lewiscountytn.com/ to learn more about the recycling alternatives offered at the Transfer Station.
