For the 2025 Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Awards, which honor people, companies, and other organizations for their dedication to protecting the state’s natural resources, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) is inviting Tennesseans to nominate others. Agriculture and Forestry; Building Green; Clean Air and Transportation Solutions; Energy and Renewable Resources; Environmental Education and Outreach; Materials Management; Natural Resources; Water Quality; Sustainable Performance; and Lifetime Achievement are among the ten categories for the awards. By combining an award from another program, Transportation Solutions is new to the Clean Air category. Nominations may come from any person, company, group, agency, or educational institution. The project must be completed within two years before December 31st, 2024, or for long-term projects completed in the year before the nomination deadline, and the nominee must be in Tennessee. A minimum of three years of continuous environmental compliance with TDEC is required of all nominees. Self-nominations are welcomed.
