Virgil Allen Shelton Obituary
Virgil Allen Shelton, age 77, of Minor Hill,TN passed away Friday, December 13, 2024, at Elk River Health and Nursing Center of Ardmore in Ardmore, TN. He was a native of Lawrence County,TN, a member of the American Legion, and a retired construction worker. Mr. Shelton served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.

He was preceded in death by his his parents, Joseph Allen and RBulis Anders Shelton; and brother, Randy Shelton.

He is survived by two daughters, Tina Neese (Jason) of Loretto,TN, and Christie Lynn Hooper (Mike) of Leoma,TN; one brother, Terrance Shelton (June) of Loretto,TN; one sister, Janice Clemons (Stanley) of Anderson, AL; three grandchildren, Kinley Jones (Lynsey) of Leoma, TN, Dalton Neese (Callie) of Loretto,TN, and Cydney Jones of Leoma,TN; and one great-grandson, Jordan Jones of Leoma,TN.

The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Nikki, Ivy and all the special techs whom loved on our dad; his hospice caregivers, Anthony, Donna, and Missy; and the Elk River nurses and staff.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 18, 2024, with Chris Joiner officiating. Interment will follow at Bonnertown Cemetery in Five Points, TN with full military honors. The family suggests memorials be made to Middle TN Down Syndrome Association and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
