Units from Lawrence County Fire Rescue were called to a reported structure fire in the 300 block of Busby Road just after 6:00 AM on Saturday, December 14. Multiple calls from local drivers reported a completely involved shop-style structure fire that was threatening the house on the property, according to the initial dispatch information. An off-duty Tennessee State Trooper and a THP Cadet who were traveling together in the region arrived at the scene as the fire began to grow in the house. They were able to alert the residents and inform them of the situation. After that, they helped the locals relocate and save the property that was at risk due to the fire. After arriving on the scene, firefighters started suppressing the fire. The staff had to rely on tanker support and a water shuttle operation to supply water for the operation because the nearest fire hydrant was over two miles away. To determine the precise origin of the incident, a fire investigator was on the scene. The fire caused significant damage or destroyed a lot of property, including the shop, cars, and a trailer. Westpoint, Leoma, CenterPoint, Southeast, and Gandy are among the responding LCFR stations.
