The University of North Alabama Marching Pride’s fundraising goal of $100,000 to support their participation in the 2025 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has been surpassed. According to an update on the corporate website, the fundraising, which was initiated by the honorary band sorority Tau Beta Sigma through a firm called Vertical Raise, concluded this week with a total of $103,031. That significantly strengthens the band’s attempt to cover the roughly $400,000 in travel expenses to the parade, according to Band Director Lloyd Jones. In October, Jones informed the 265-member band that it had been chosen to take part in the renowned parade. Every year, twelve bands participate in the parade, including the NYPD Pipes and Drums and the Macy’s Great American Marching Band. Thus, only ten are invited. Congratulations to the UNA Marching Band!
