Joan Smith Tomerlin

Joan Smith Tomerlin passed away Wednesday, December 4th, 2024, peacefully at home in Prospect, TN. She was born in Bodenham, Tennessee on December 1st, 1927, and was 97 years old.

Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, and was still making jelly last year.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 9th, 2024 from 11:30am until 1:30pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
The funeral will follow on Monday, December 9th, 2024 at 1:30pm in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
The burial will follow in Giles Memory Gardens
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Brownie Smith, her husband of 74 years, W. C. Tomerlin, and daughter, Betty Kidd.

Danny Tomerlin of Pulaski, TN
Daughter, Pam (Bob) Mason of Memphis, TN
Grandchildren, April, Chris, Lee, William, Amanda (Sam), David (Sarah), Daniel (Hannah), and Stephen.
Seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild
