Florence Man Arrested After Victim was Shot

On Friday, November 29th, at approximately 4:30 AM, the Lauderdale Sheriff’s Office responded to a shots fired call in the area of Perry Street and Pruitt Street in Florence. Upon arrival, officers encountered approximately thirty people in the street and one male with a gunshot wound to his leg. The male was transported to the North Alabama Medical Center for treatment. Multiple witnesses to the shooting identified Deangelis Dewayne Nance, of Florence, as the shooter. Nance fled the scene before the officer’s arrival. On Thursday, December 5th, Nance was arrested and charged with Assault 1st degree. He is currently confined at the Lauderdale County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.
