Melinda A. Buie
November 3, 1971 — December 2, 2024
Summertown
Melinda Buie left this world far too soon on December 2, 2024, in Summertown, Tennessee. She was born on November 3, 1971, and raised by her parents, Linda Marie Isabell Young and Jerry Young, in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.
Melinda will forever be remembered for her sparkling personality and boundless heart. Her radiant smile could brighten any room, and her thoughtful nature made everyone feel like the most important person in the world. A gifted storyteller, she had the unique ability to captivate audiences with her animated, cheerful expressions, often leaving listeners laughing until it hurt.
She was a modern-day Martha Stewart—a talented cook, skilled baker, welcoming hostess, and creative crafter. Everything Melinda did was infused with love, from her perfectly prepared meals to her beautifully crafted creations. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them.
Melinda’s memory will be cherished by her devoted husband of 35 years, Terry Buie; her beloved sons, Jacob (Katie) Buie and Maddox Buie; her mother, Linda Young; and her sisters, Karen (Roy) Henson, Paula (Jeff) West, and Tracy (Michael) Workman. She is also survived by her nieces, Mariah Davis and Candace Tidwell; her nephew, Jared West; and her special cousin, Janet Floyd. Melinda is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Young.
Melinda’s warmth, kindness, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
The family will receive family and friends Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 12:00 PM with one hour of visitation prior. To follow, Melinda will be laid to rest in the Garden of Prayer at Polk Memorial Gardens.
