Porch Pirates Active in Lauderdale County

Officers responded to a theft of property allegation at the 200 Block of Meadowcrest Drive on November 22nd. The victim said that following delivery, several parcels totaling more than $600 were stolen from the porch of the house. The criminal returned on November 26, 2024, and stole more gifts from the victim’s doorstep. After being named as a suspect, Dalton Ray Hayes was taken into custody. Hayes was operating an employer-owned GPS-equipped car at the time of the arrest. The employer gave detectives location information as part of their cooperation with the investigation. Investigators linked Hayes to three different parcel theft occurrences. Hayes is being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center at the moment. Until proven guilty, all suspects are presumed innocent.
