Local Churches Collect Thousands of Shoebox Gifts for Operation Christmas Child

Churches across Lawrence County served as drop-off points for this year’s Operation Christmas Child program, collecting thousands of shoebox gifts to be distributed to needy children around the world.  Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse with a mission of demonstrating God’s love in a tangible way to children in need.  Since the program was initiated in 1993, it has distributed gifts to more than 220 million children in more than 170 countries and territories.  The local boxes have been shipped to Samaritan’s Purse for distribution.
